Our planet is heating up. In the summer of 2007 the polar ice cap melted at a record rate. And we’re just beginning to understand the impact of greenhouse gases. Scientists predict the impact of global warming will accelerate over the next 50 years, as carbon emissions double.
Broadband can help the planet stay cool. If you drive a Toyota and commute 50 miles a week, your commute produces 1400 pounds of carbon a year. If you telecommute four times a month it would eliminate .13 tons of carbon. It would take three trees 10 years to absorb that much carbon.
