What State Leaders Are Saying
Gov. Pat Quinn (D-IL): “Broadband access is critical to help grow the Illinois economy. That’s why we’ve aggressively competed for federal stimulus money to improve our state’s high-tech infrastructure,” (Gov. Pat Quinn (D-IL), “Governor Quinn Announces Illinois To Receive Nearly $100 Million In New High-Tech Investment,” Press Release, 9/13/10)
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL): “Broadband is an important economic tool, and too many Illinoisans lack adequate and affordable access. Our homes and businesses need affordable access to high speed internet connections, in the same way our homes and businesses need services like water, gas and electricity.” (Gov. Pat Quinn (D-IL), “Governor Quinn Announces Illinois To Receive Nearly $100 Million In New High-Tech Investment,” Press Release, 9/13/10)
Illinois State Rural Development Director Colleen Callahan: “Broadband, much like education, is the great equalizer.” (“Area’s Internet Access Gets A Boost,” Jacksonville Journal-Courier, 9/15/10)
