TechUnited:NJ teamed up with 5G providers to launch the “5G Impact Challenge” to provide small businesses and entrepreneurs in the New Jersey area new technologies and ways to use 5G to solve problems within their business. The program helped the businesses solve operational pain points and improve the customer experience. A total of five businesses were selected to receive a Inseego MiFi 5G hotspot, Samsung Galaxy S10 5G phones, and access to a suite of small business services.
The access to 5G allowed some business owners to offer online sales for the first time, a crucial service offering to survive the pandemic. For example, one of the most innovative uses of 5G involved giving customers of SOHO Flower & Garden the opportunity to view flowers in an augmented reality environment.
