Robotic vacuums are becoming common within the household, and for the first time, iRobot has launched a product that has the ability to avoid pet poop. iRobot’s latest robotic vacuum, the Roomba j7+, uses built-in machine vision and AI to identify and avoid pet messes and other obstacles.
The new camera feature is able to identify furniture, cords, and other hazardous obstacles on the floor. Once the vacuum identifies an object, it will send a push notification to the user to find out whether the item is permanent or temporary. This technology allows the robot to learn and understand the area for future cleanings.
