The Singapore government announced it would deploy Spot, a robot “dog” designed by Boston Dynamics, to patrol a local park and warn visitors via a broadcasted pre-recorded message to practice social distancing to protect themselves from coronavirus. Spot is also equipped with cameras that can help officials estimate the number of park patrons and if visitors are adhering to social distancing guidelines.

Singapore recently saw an alarming spike in the number of COVID-19 cases and the new project aims to improve social distancing enforcement.
