In a new report by Parks Associates, 82% of U.S. broadband households subscribe to at least one over-the-top (OTT) service. This results in an increase of six points year-over-year. Only 58% subscribe to traditional pay-TV services. Traditional pay-TV service has decreased four points year-over-year.
Live TV viewing has increased in popularity as the study found 25% of broadband households subscribe to a TV service offering a bundle of live channels via an online provider. Only 13% of users have both traditional and online pay-TV services.
