Internet usage is higher than ever before, according to a recent study by Pew Research Center. The study found that 85% of U.S. adults go online every day, with around a third of adults saying they are online “almost constantly.” These almost-constantly online users make up 31% of respondents—up from 21% in 2015.
The study also highlights how internet usage varies greatly by age. Nearly half of all constant users, 48%, are age 18 to 29. While the generation over 65 is least likely to use the internet constantly, only 8%.
