Researchers from BroadbandNow reported that in Q4 2019, 61% of the U.S. population had access to low-cost wired broadband of $60 or less per month, a significant increase from just 52% in the previous quarter.

Access to higher-speed services also increased slightly between the two quarters. The percentage of Americans that can get gigabit service increase from slightly below 23% in Q3 to more than 23% in Q4. The availability of minimum internet service speed of at least 25/3 Mbps also increased slightly from 94.5% in Q3 to 94.8% in Q4.
