New research from Parks Associates found that 75% of U.S. households with broadband play video games for at least one hour per week. Thirty-six percent of those households also subscribe to at least one free or paid gaming service. This study highlights that cloud gaming is becoming a staple entertainment option and is expected to reach $3.6 billion by 2024.

Parks also found that 91% of console gamers play games on at least one other platform, with 37% playing on a PC, mobile device, and a connected TV in addition to their console. The growing popularity of online gaming was even more pronounced during the COVID-19 pandemic and is driving broadband upgrades, improvements in home networking, and an increase in digital subscriptions.
