A recent survey of smartphone users in 11 countries conducted by Ericsson shows that during the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers are finding information and communications technology (ICT) vital for coping with everyday life, particularly among career millennials, parents with kids at home, and people living in urban centers. The top tasks respondents said ICT helped them most with were child education, staying in touch with friends and family, and doing work (white-collar) from home. The reliance on ICT has contributed to an increase in mobile usage of about an hour more per day during COVID-19.
