New research by the Fiber Broadband Association shows strong growth in the number of U.S. homes with fiber broadband access. Service providers now market fiber broadband to almost 40 million homes, and smaller providers are responsible for a significant portion of the fiber build. Between 2004 and 2018, smaller providers’ share of the fiber build consistently grew. And in 2018, smaller providers were responsible for 29% of the total fiber build.
