According to a recent survey by The Rural Broadband Association, more than half (55.4%) of rural residents now have access to gigabit broadband speeds available to them. This is over a 10% increase in availability from the previous year. Customers are also subscribing to higher speeds in 2021, with 9% taking gigabit speeds and 28.3% taking 100 Mbps and over in 2021, up from 7.9% and 20.2%, respectively, in a 2020 NTCA member survey. Rural residents are most likely (34.9%) to purchase a speed between 25 Mbps-to-100 Mbps.
