Data gathered for Omdia’s Environmental, Social and Governance Service Provider Index reported a growth in the telecom industry’s commitment to green energy last year, with all 15 telcos tracked by the Index announcing green energy measures between 2019 and 2020. Numerous companies cut their carbon neutral targets significantly – taking years, sometimes decades, off their timelines for zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Other announcements tracked by the ESG Service Provider Index included issues like social welfare, digital inclusion, diversity, and digital learning as well as other environmental goals such as recycling and conservation.
