The Internet Innovation Alliance (IIA) released the following statement on the FCC order promoting next-generation wireline infrastructure:
IIA welcomes the FCC’s vote today adopting the Second Report and Order on Promoting Next-Generation Wireline Infrastructure. It marks another step on the road in the transition from legacy networks to next-generation broadband services and in the FCC’s efforts to remove barriers to investment and bring faster broadband, more quickly, to millions more Americans. Today’s action removes antiquated rules that delay broadband deployment and instead encourages America’s network operators to invest in modern online infrastructure and services that the nation wants and needs.”
