IIA released the following statement on the Trump Administration’s new infrastructure plan and the regulatory path for 5G:
IIA applauds the proposal in President Trump’s infrastructure plan to amend current law to advance deployments of small cell equipment as the nation moves towards the adoption of next-generation 5G mobile broadband technology. Amending the law will clear the way for rapid deployments of small cell equipment, which will enable wireless speeds of up to 100 times faster than today. Along with the earlier actions to promote deployment of broadband infrastructure on federal property, the Administration has taken a strong step forward to encourage the billions of dollars in new private investment that will make 5G a reality for Americans.”
