Today, the Internet Innovation Alliance (IIA) filed comments in the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Fifteenth Broadband Deployment Report proceeding under Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act. IIA states that “the underlying trends in broadband deployment are overwhelmingly positive” while noting the gaps that remain and the urgency of addressing them.
IIA released a survey and white paper showing that Millennial Americans — like older generations — are concerned about the privacy of their online information and whether online technology and social media companies are taking the appropriate steps to safeguard the personal information of consumers.
The Internet Innovation Alliance commends the Federal Communications Commission for taking action today to fuel American leadership in the race to 5G. By holding an overlay auction of the 2.5 GHz EBS spectrum band, valuable mid-band spectrum will be freed for flexible use, helping to ensure American global dominance in next-generation connectivity and accelerating transformative technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT).”
Today, the Internet Innovation Alliance (IIA) submitted its white paper, Evolving Preferences – Consumer Preferences Tilting Towards Mobile Broadband, to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for consideration in its annual inquiry into the deployment of advanced telecommunications capability.
